My name is Aminah Mills I am currently finishing up my last class to complete my MBA in Sports Management. In February of last year my wife had a beautiful baby girl named Sage. Knowing that we were going to grow our family is the reason I enrolled into the program two years ago. I am originally from Mt. Vernon, NY and currently live in Los Angeles, CA. I have been an elite athlete since middle school compteing nationally in track and field events like the hurdles and 4x4 relay races. I am an avid sports fan and competitor but over the years injuries have had me rethink professional competition and look at the business side of sports. I have 15 year's experience in management, coaching, sales, ticketing and as a teacher. I am looking to bring those skills together along with my completion of the MBA - Sports Management degree to secure a position in athletic administration. My all-around experience in sports and entertainment had not only been a long and interesting journey but it is my passion. I look forward to being able to take an athletic program and make it one of the most successful programs nationally on any level.
Because of my specific career path, I was quite specific about where I would conduct my internship. Little did I know that the one place that I considered my sports home would be the place I will be learning and gaining knowledge in a whole new aspect. West Los Angeles College where I held an Assistant Coaching positon, is where I will be mentoring under the tutelage of Ricardo Hooper and working with some other former colleagues. This experience I know for sure will catapult me into the world of athletic administration that I have been dreaming of.
